Nancy S. Parker

Nancy S. Parker, age 85, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016.
She was born on November 4, 1930 in Pittsburgh to the late Robert and Margaret (Kirby) Sitler, and she is the widow of the late Donald S. Parker.
She followed her dream of becoming a pilot through her involvement in the Civil Air Patrol, which she was a member of for over fifty years. She loved her music and played the piano and bagpipes. She was even in a bagpipe band! Nancy always kept herself active. She was an ESL instructor for over thirty years in Southern California. She also became one of the pioneering instructors in Qigong and has black belts in hard and soft arts.
Nancy is survived by 2 daughters, Ruth Parker of Charles Town, WV, Mary (and husband Michael) of Carlisle; 1 brother, Richard Sitler of Pittsburgh, PA; 2 step children, Richard Parker of Burleson, TX, and Susan Parker of Northampton, MA; and 9 grandchildren. Nancy was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and John Sitler; and 1 stepson, Donald Parker, Jr.
A memorial service will be private and held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
