Nancy Reese Victor

Nancy Reese Victor, 88, of Carlisle & Mechanicsburg passed away peacefully on June 26, 2012. She was born on June 10, 1924 in Baltimore, Maryland and spent her youth in Akron, Ohio. Gifted with a beautiful mezzo-soprano singing voice, she studied voice and music theory at Julliard School of Music in New York City in the mid-1940s. During this time, she performed at various NYC venues including Radio City Music Hall and USO events across the region, even one with Bob Hope.

In 1946 she married a recently graduated cadet from the United States Military Academy, West Point and spent the next 50 years of her life with her husband, Colonel Alfred H. Victor, Jr., who passed away in 1997.

She was a kind and loving wife, mother and person. Giving those around her the gift of music was her mission on earth. She did it beautifully. She is survived by her daughter Margaret Cronin Victor and grandsons David Hudson Victor and Jared Jennings Victor of Toronto, Ontario; her son Henry Phillips Victor and Diane Semonovich of Port Perry, Ontario; her son William Reese Victor of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; her son Charles Scholz Victor, daughter-in-law Kathy Mallare Victor and grandsons Andrew Reese Victor, Nathan Mallare Victor and Michael Bryce Victor of Laguna Beach California.

A local memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon, on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the United States Army War College Chapel, Craig Road, Carlisle, PA. Nancy will be buried along side her husband, Al, at the US Military Academy, West Point, NY. A graveside service will be held on November 30, 2012 at 1:30 PM. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Heart Association.
