Nancy Lee Thumma

Nancy Lee Thumma, age 85, of Carlisle, passed away Tuesday December 10, 2019 at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle.
Born November 14, 1934 in Carlisle, daughter of the late Samuel Diller Fry Sr. and Mary Catherine Mosteller Fry. Nancy was a retired cook and teacher for the Carlisle Early Education Center, a former member of St James Lutheran Church, loved building puzzles, doing crossword puzzles, playing scrabble (she always won!); and she was an avid sewer and crafter and loved cooking.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald Leer Thumma, Carlisle, daughters, Mary Alice Williamson and husband, Keith, Carlisle and Lois Ann Ilardi and husband, Robert, Inwood, WV, grandchildren, Emily Mozdy and husband, Joseph, Boiling Springs and Adam Leer Wilson and wife, Lauren, Bunker Hill, WV, great granddaughter Blakely, brothers and sisters, Rev. L. Joanne Young, Drums, PA, Sue Kellner, Hershey, PA, Rebecca Steward, Northampton, PA, Rev. Samuel D. Fry Jr. and wife Betty Anne, Palmyra, Judith and husband, Cmndr. J. Kip Casper (Ret.), CA, Christine and husband, Lt. Cmndr. Howard Icenhower (Ret.), Arendtsville, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy is preceded in death by granddaughters, Elizabeth Lee Williamson and Jessica Lynn Williamson.
Family will receive friends from 7 to 9pm Sunday December 15, 2019 and from 9:30am until time of service at 10:30am Monday December 16, 2019 at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013.
Interment will follow at the Upper Frankfort Brick Church Cemetery.
