Nancy Lee Bates, age 75, of Carlisle died on Monday, October 12, 2020 at the Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill with her loving family by her side.
She was born on May 6, 1945 in Lewistown, PA to the late Albert Stockton and Waunetah Dean Powell of Mifflintown and was the widow of the late Robert G. Bates who died on September 6, 2019.
You may remember Nancy as a cashier at the Iron Skillet and from the Hess Station on Wolf’s Bridge Road. She was also a van driver for Easton Coach. Nancy had attended the Letort United Methodist Church. Nancy had a special spot in her heart for her dogs and was proud of her support of the ASPCA of the USA.
She is survived by her mother Waunetah Powell (husband Fred) of Mifflintown, two daughters, Jackie L. Berrier of Carlisle and Christine L. Wolfgang (husband Donald) of Richfield, PA; her two sons Charles “Matthew” Leach and Steven L. Zook, Jr., two sisters Vickie Van Horn of Port Royal and Evelyn Price of Lewistown, PA. She is also survived by her three loving grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
According to Nancy’s wishes there will not be a formal service or viewing.
