Nancy K. Hoffman

Nancy K. Hoffman, 71, of Carlisle, passed away while surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at her home.

She was born September 24, 1951, in Carlisle to the late Kenneth L. and D. Jean (Griffie) Kurtz.

A 1969 graduate of Carlisle High School, she later completed a BSN from Messiah College and Polyclinic Hospital School of Nursing (RN) in 1974. In 1997 she received a Master of Arts degree from Liberty University. While living in Philadelphia she was employed at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and Albert Einstein Medical Center. She was later employed by BETRA In Home Care, Central Penn College, and Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania.

She volunteered at Project SHARE, MOPS of Carlisle, Mission of Mercy Mobile Medical Clinic, My Brother's Table and She's Somebody's Daughter. She was a member of Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church. She used her gifts of hospitality and service for the cheer and benefit of countless individuals and to the glory of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, J. Lynn Hoffman of Carlisle; two daughters, Kelly (husband James) Bluman of West Point, NY and Sara (husband Nick) Walker of Carlisle; one son, Tyler (wife Joy) Hoffman of Cheyenne, WY; one brother, Brian (wife Kim) Kurtz of Carlisle; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Daniel, Alyssa, and Luke Bluman, Aidan and Cameron Walker, and Anna, Sophia, and Eloise Hoffman; and her mother-in-law, Laura T. Hoffman of Mechanicsburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Kurtz.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Grace Baptist Church, 777 West North Street Carlisle, PA 17013 with Dr. Warren Hoffman and Pastor Jeremy Brandenburg co-officiating. The memorial service will be livestreamed at www.gracebaptistcarlisle.org. A private burial was previously held at East Donegal Cemetery in Marietta, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Nancy to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, She’s Somebody’s Daughter (shessomebodysdaughter.org) or Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 101 Petersburg Road, Carlisle PA. No flowers please due to family member allergies.
