Mildred R. Goodhart, age 82, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA.
She was born on June 11, 1933 in Carlisle to the late Earl David and Inez Bertha Weary Sheriff and was the widow of the late John L. Goodhart who passed on August 9, 2002.
Mildred worked for the former Sylvia Shoe Factory in Mt. Holly Springs and was a former member of First Presbyterian Church, Newville. She was a former member of both the Carlisle Eagles Aerie #1299 and the Minnequa Social Club of Shippensburg. Mildred loved to do crossword puzzles, shopping and the time she spent with her loving family. Going out to eat with her grandchildren was a highlight for Mildred.
She is survived by two sons, John D. Goodhart of Carlisle and Robert L. (and wife Joann) Goodhart of Shippensburg; a brother, Leroy D. (and wife Arlene) Sheriff of Shippensburg; two sisters, Ruth Jumper of Newville and Gladys Myers of NJ; two granddaughters, Candy L. (and husband Rich) Baker of Shippensburg and Nicole A. Goodhart of Shippensburg; three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jacklynn and Dustin. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Sheriff.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. Interment will be at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the services.
