Michael F. Jones

Michael F. Jones, age 78, peacefully passed away on September 19, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Michael was born on Sunday, March 17, 1946, in Eubank, KY to Oscar E. and Jesse C. (Adams) Jones. He served in the Navy and then began his career with the Railroad before retiring from his position as a Chief Train Dispatcher at Norfolk Southern.

He is survived by his wife, Gail P. (Bannan) Jones and their three children: Michael J. Jones, Jennifer K. Jones (Husband, Peter Mazzola), Kimberly K. Jones-Scanlon (Husband, Justin R. Scanlon), (9) grandchildren, and (5) great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Bernice Jones and Georgia Jones, as well as his brother, Ted Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents in addition to his brother, Wendell Jones, and sister, Nancy Jones.

Michael was a loving, doting husband to his wife, Gail, and supportive, loving Father to his children. His fondest moments and memories were those created with his family, which will always and forever be cherished. Michael loved boating, fishing, golfing, gardening, music, camping, coaching sports, spending quality time with his family and pets, and most definitely watching his beloved Philadelphia Eagles Football team.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday September 27, 2024 at Hoffman Funeral Cremation 2020 W. Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Father Donald Bender will be officiating the service. Burial will follow the service in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
