Maynard Leon Brandt age 97, passed away June 25, 2022 in Mechanicsburg, PA. He was born March 31, 1925 in Carlisle, PA. son of the late D.K. and Emma Jane (Hippensteel) Brandt.
Maynard graduated in 1943 from Carlisle High School. He was a World War II US Army veteran who served in the US Army Air Corps and served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and retired as a Chief Warrant officer 4.
He worked for the Army War College at the Carlisle Barricks as an electrician and foreman before his retirement. His family said he loved to fly planes and helicopters and he did that during his service to our country in the US Army. He also enjoyed going on picnics and swimming with his family at Fuller Lake and his trips to visit the New England area.
He is survived by his son Eric Brandt and his wife Jill of Mechanicsburg, PA. his son Gregory Brandt of Baltimore, MD. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, granddaughter Melody Smyser Brandt and sister Nancy Grape.
A Celebration of Maynard’s life will be held on Friday, July 1st, 2022 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory 2020 W. Trindle Rd Carlisle, PA at 9:30 AM with a visitation held for family and friends at 9:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at Westminster Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Carlisle, PA.
