Matthew D. Rynard, 21, of Gardners went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at Penn State M. S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born Dec. 5, 1990, in Carlisle, he was a son of Douglas Rynard and Tawna Delp Clipp.
Matt was a student at Boiling Springs High School and will graduate posthumously in 2012. He volunteered at Project SHARE and Furry Friends, where he enjoyed playing with the cats.
Matthew competed in the Special Olympics. He was a member of Best Friends, Carlisle. Matthew loved Scooby Doo and Johnny Test, Steelers, Phillies and eating out. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Matt's family remembered that there was no one who Matt did not like and whose life he did not touch. Matt was very proud of being an organ donor.
Surviving are his father, Douglas Rynard (and wife, Emma) of Carlisle; his mother, Tawna Clipp (and husband, William) of Gardners; half-brother, Joshua Clipp of Gardners; stepsister, Megan Parr of Newville; maternal grandmother, Dee Delp of Carlisle; and paternal grandparents, Donald and Beverly Rynard of Carlisle. Also surviving are his step-grandmothers, Peg Gottshall and Alice Walsh (and husband, Ken) and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Delp.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Jan Hughes and the Rev. Sharonn Halderman officiating. Burial will be in LeTort Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. At the request of the family, please dress casually for the service.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
