Mary P. Shoemaker

Mary P. Shoemaker, 93, of Carlisle, died Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born May 18, 1923 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Henry R. and Adeline L. Graham Shoemaker.
She was a former member of the Democratic Club, Shamrock Club and AARP. Mary enjoyed watching sports, especially NASCAR where her favorite driver was #24 Jeff Gordon, football, baseball and golf when Tiger Woods was playing. After many years of employment as the office manager, she retired from Woolworth's. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Mary is survived by two nephews, Larry L. (and wife Claudia) Lehman and Kenneth P. (and wife Susan) Lehman; four nieces, Elaine Novak, Phyllis Jones, Doris (and husband Jay) Townsend and Carol Shoemaker and numerous great nieces and great nephews who she loved very much and never forgot on holidays or birthdays. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by three siblings, Glenn Shoemaker, Marlin Shoemaker Sr. and Jean Lehman Davis and one nephew, Marlin Shoemaker Jr.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA with Rev. Kenneth O. Hoke officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church 201 West Louther Street Carlisle, PA 17013.
