Mary Nena Drew Thrower

Mary Nena Drew Thrower, 69, of Gardners, PA and formerly of Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at UPMC West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg, PA.
She was born February 3, 1952, in Plattsmouth, NE to the late Wilson Eugene and Myrtle Mae (Harrell) Drew.
Nena has always been a lover of life and very intellectually curious. She was an avid reader, passionate gardener, and a talented poet. Nena was a 1970 graduate of S D Lee High School in Columbus, MS. She was a talented cook and took wonderful care of her family. Nena always looked forward to the holidays, the get togethers, and making the meals that came with them.
She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Henry Thrower of Gardners, PA; one daughter, Jessica Drew of Gardners, PA; three grandchildren, Nicholas Ryan Fennell of Gardners, PA, Craig Richardson of Mississippi, and Lucy Ann Richardson of Mississippi; one nephew, Michael Eck of South Carolina; and many cousins who all loved her very much. In addition to her parents, Nena was preceded in death by her beloved younger brother, Danny Michael Drew.
A memorial service celebrating Nena’s life will be announced at a later date.
