Mary Louise Kraus

Mary Louise Kraus, age 90, of Carlisle Pennsylvania and formerly of Chestertown Maryland and Colts Neck New Jersey died on Sunday, September 5, 2021 in the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home with her loving family at her side. She was born on April 13, 1931 in Saint Paul, Minnesota to the late Frederick A. and Lillian A. Kappler McKennett.

Mary Lou retired as an elementary school teacher from the Freehold Township, New Jersey School District. She was a graduate of the former Trenton State Teachers College in New Jersey. She was a visitor of the First United Church of Christ, Carlisle; a former member of the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown, Maryland; and, a former member of the Colts Neck Reformed Church in Colts Neck, New Jersey. Mary Lou was a leader in the Reformed Church and a member of the Classes of New Brunswick.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, William J. Kraus, Jr. of Carlisle; one son, Dr. Kurt Kraus (wife Sally), Carlisle; two daughters, Karen Wilson (Dr. Richard), San Diego, California; Eileen Jakobsberg (Phillip), Silver Spring, Maryland; one brother, Richard A. McKennett, Williston, North Dakota; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her sister Beverly Sheridan.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on May 14, 2022, at 11:00AM at the Colts Neck Reformed Church in Colts Neck, New Jersey followed by a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall behind the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA 17013.
