Mary Lou Wessels, 91, of Carlisle passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Green Ridge Village, Newville, PA.

Born on September 11, 1928 in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late John and Katherine (Willard) Wallace. She had been married to William Lee Wessels.

Mary Lou graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor Degree in Education. She was the Founder and Director of the Pied Piper School For Little Children where she taught as well. She was also a teacher in Lutherville, MD and at the Harrisburg Academy. After her retirement, she dabbled briefly in Real Estate, but her love for children and education brought her back to the Childtime Program at the Letort School.

Mary Lou was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church where she served in the choir. She was an avid reader, enjoyed music, baking, gardening, nutrition, Siamese cats, Chesapeake Bay retrievers and had a special love of flowers.

Mary Lou is survived by a son, William H. Wessels; daughters Merrie Lee Price and Stephanie Braswell; son-in-law Greg Braswell; grandchildren Cole B. Price IV, his wife Antonia, Marissa Price, Jonathan Braswell, Katie Braswell, Jenna Wessels, and Traci Hosler; great-grandchildren Vivian Freeman, James Freeman and Cole B. Price V. In addition to her parents and three siblings, Mary Lou was predeceased by her son-in-law Cole B. Price III.

She was lovingly involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was dearly loved by her family, the children she taught, and her many friends who's lives she touched. She will be missed by all.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service.
