Mary Lou Rung, age 83, of Mechanicsburg, PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
She was born January 11, 1933 in Bath, NY to the late Stanley G. and Janith F. (Eddy) Gorton and was the widow of Harry Rung.
She accepted the Lord as her Savior in 1975 and invested her remaining years in service to Him. Second Timothy 4:7 was her life verse: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith".
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Lynne Martin and Tracy Tokunaga; her son, Mark Heinrichs; a brother, Philip (Marg) Gorton; five grandchildren, two great granddaughters, and many others whom she loved as family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Cohocton Assembly of God Church, 31 N. Danville Street, Cohocton, NY 14826 with Rev. Daniel Gardner officiating. There will be a visitation at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Fund at Cohocton Assembly of God church or to the Hornell Regional Cancer Center.
