Mary Katherine Lanious

Mary Katherine Lanious, age 87, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at the UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle Hospital.
She was born July 23, 1930 in Carlisle to the late John Emerson and Oma Alverna (Killinger) Hefflefinger.
Mary retired from the Carlisle Hospital after working 25 years as an LPN. She was a member of Faith Chapel, where she was belonged to the Good News Bible Club and taught Sunday school.
She is survived by: her husband of 69 years, Elwood I. Lanious of Carlisle; three children, Gary (wife Anita) Lanious, Sharan (husband Harry) Snyder and Daniel (wife Tammy) Lanious, all of Carlisle; a sister, Betty (husband Jim) Steimling of FL; eight grandchildren, Chris and Ben Steinour, Ruth Snyder, Brandi, Ethan, Hannah, Coree and Dakota Lanious, all of Carlisle; three great-granddaughters, Jade Peffer, Emma and Madelyn Steinour. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Rickard and two brothers, Elmer and Dale Hefflefinger.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Michael J. Mayer officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
