Martha Louise Martin

Martha Louise Martin, age 85, of Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.
She was born September 15, 1931 in Carlisle to the late Ralph and Clara (Burgett) Kelly and was the widow of John Richard Martin who passed August 17, 1986.
Martha was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School. She had worked as a saleswoman at the Thompson Dress Shop in Carlisle and formerly as a clerk at the Department of Labor & Industry in Harrisburg. Martha was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle.
She is survived by: a son, Joseph Alex Martin of Newport; a brother, Richard Kelly of Boiling Springs; a sister, Doris Hamilton of Carlisle; daughter-in-law, Shelby Martin; and three step-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by: a son, Barry L. Martin; a daughter, Linda Sue Martin; and a brother, Gary Kelly.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Lisa M. Leber officiating. Burial will follow at Longsdorf Cemetery, New Kingstown. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 21 S. Bedford Street, Carlisle, PA 17013.
