Martha E. Fickner, 87, of Boiling Springs died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at her daughter's home.
Born February 5, 1927 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles Leisher and Thelma Hall Kocher and the widow of George F. Fickner.
She was a 1945 graduate of John Harris High School, Harrisburg. Martha was formerly employed as an Administrative Assistant for the PA State Police, Book of the Month Club, Mechanicsburg and retired from McCoy Electronics, Mt. Holly Springs. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandson, Ryan. Martha enjoyed cooking for her friends and family. She belonged to several card playing groups, loved roller-skating and Kutztown football.
Surviving are one daughter, Georgann Bailey (and husband, Dallas) of Carlisle; one grandson, Ryan Bailey of Boiling Springs; one brother, Charles "Bo" Leisher of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday June 2, 2014 at First United Church of Christ, 30 North Pitt Street, Carlisle with Rev. Lynn R. Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday June 1, 2014 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
