Marlin "Mark" Fisher

January 14, 1944 — November 6, 2023

Marlin “Mark” Fisher, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital at the age of 79. Born in Andersonburg, Perry County, PA, he was the son of the late James W. and Mildred Shuman Fisher. He was the husband of Linda Hockenberry Fisher.


Marlin worked in automobile carpet manufacturing for the former CH Maslind & Co. in Carlisle prior to working in the shipping department for Quaker Oats until his retirement in 2001.


Marlin was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #578, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1299 since 1996, and Moose Lodge # 761 (all in Carlisle), along with the South Mountain American Legion Post #674 (Mount Holly Springs), and the Carlisle Club.


Marlin enjoyed hunting, particularly for deer and turkeys. He was an avid woodworker and craftsman, and he was a devoted friend to many who affectionately knew him as “Mark”. His wife Linda would like to acknowledge the love and support of “the kids” Stephanie McKee and Jesse McKee and Kelly Nelson (Brian).


Surviving with his wife are a Goddaughter, Mary Norris (John), of Mechanicsburg; two sisters, Melva Freeman of Shermansdale, PA and Joan Fisher of Blain, PA; a brother Wayne Fisher of Blain, PA; and a sister Alice Rice (John) of Loysville, PA. He is also survived by five nieces and three nephews. Two brothers, James Fisher and Robert Nesbit predeceased him.


Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with the Rev. Richard Reese officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marlin’s memory to the American Heart Association, 4250 Crums Mill Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17112.
