Marlin L. Garman, age 83, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at his residence.
He was born June 25, 1934 in Lower Frankford Township to the late Clarence Chester and Rebecca (Raudabaugh) Garman and was the widower of Betty P. (Johnson) Garman who passed April 24, 2008.
Marlin honorably served in the United States Air Force during Korea before retiring. He then went to work at the New Cumberland Army Depot and was owner/operator of Garman Plumbing & Heating. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #1299 and the American Legion, Post #101, Carlisle. He enjoyed hunting and deep-sea fishing, especially for flounder. Marlin was a family oriented man and loved spending time with the children.
He is survived by: his children, Brian Garman, Barry Garman, Belinda Carpenter, Bradley Garman and Bethann Price; three brothers, Paul Garman, Walter Garman and Jesse Garman; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren with another one on the way. In addition to his parents and wife, Marlin was preceded in death by twelve siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Pastor Bradley Garman officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
