Marlin Griffie

Marlin J. Griffie, 83, of Carlisle, died Monday, January 9, 2012 at his home.
Born May 3, 1928 in Gardners he was a son of the late Oliver and Media Gardner Griffie and the widower of Deloris Jean Nickel Griffie.
He was employed as a forklift operator for Cadbury-Schweppes-Mott’s, Aspers, PA and retired with 38 years of service. Marlin was an avid baseball fan, especially of the Boston Red Sox. He loved sports of all kinds, especially NASCAR Racing. Marlin loved his pets.
Surviving are one sister, Stella Richwine of Gardners, one brother, Clarence Griffie of Biglerville and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers, William Griffie, Melvin Griffie, Ralph Griffie, Lloyd Griffie, Russell Griffie and Donald Griffie.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2012 at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1924 Ritner Highway, Carlisle with Rev. Mary Medkeff-Rose officiating. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle.
