Marlene R. Cockley

Marlene R. Cockley, 90, passed away on February 5, 2025, at her home in Carlisle, PA surrounded by her family.

She was born on Saturday February 10, 1934, in Harrisburg, PA, to Charles Travitz Sr and Mary M. McCoy. 

Marlene worked in food service at the Carlisle School District. She was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church and was also a member of AARP and the North Middleton Senior Citizens. She was a volunteer for Project Share and at several area nursing homes. 

Marlene is survived by her son, Gregory (Vicki) Darr of Carlisle, stepdaughters: Teresa Dows of Lakeville, MN, and Jennifer (William) Ortmyer of Newville, sister Mary Taylor of Mechanicsburg, 2 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her first husband Lee Darr, her second husband Richard Cockley, her son Michael Darr, two sisters: Sandra Kirschman and Audrey Rose, brother Charles Travitz Jr. and her parents. 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday February 13, 2025 at Hoffman Funeral and Cremation 2020 W. Trindle Road Carlisle, PA. A viewing will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Reverend Jake Waybright will be officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Cemetery.
