Mark Schatte

April 28, 1957 — April 2, 2018

Mark Schatte, age 60, of Carlisle, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Mark was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. The only thing that gave him greater joy in life was his relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mark always shared his love for Jesus and his family with everyone he met. Mark taught Sunday School for 5th and 6th graders and enjoyed pointing them toward Christ every week.
He was an avid bowler and enjoyed golfing, camping, performing magic and spending time with his family. He retired from the United States Army as a Sergeant Major after faithfully serving for over 27 years. Since his retirement, he worked for the Department of Defense and for the last 10 years as the Supervisor of Physical Security at Carlisle Barracks.
He was born April 1957 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Homer L. and Michalene (Gallo) Schatte. He is survived by: his wife of 18 years, Carol Lee (Fasold) Schatte of Carlisle; four children, Jamie L. Schatte of Carlisle, Brett T. (wife Lori F.) Schatte of Shippensburg, Hannah Schatte of Carlisle and Josiah H. Schatte of Carlisle; a brother, William Paul Schatte of McKinney, TX; two sisters, Pam (husband Walter) Rich of Waterloo, IL and Marcia (husband Gary) Tyler of Dupo, IL; and two granddaughters, Jayde and Jenavieve.
