Mark Frank George, age 57, of Carlisle, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at his residence.
He was born June 14, 1959 in Carlisle to Margaret (Wilson) George of Carlisle and the late Heber Trimble George, Jr.
Mark was a 1979 graduate of Carlisle High School and was employed for 38 years by the former Morgan Mill Works, Mechanicsburg and Anderson Windows, Carlisle. He will be remembered as a hardworking, easy going man with a good sense of humor. Mark was an avid hunter, loved fishing and was a John Wayne enthusiast and loved to build plane and ship models. He was a member of the FOE, Aerie #1299, Carlisle.
In addition to his mother, Mark is survived by: two sons, Nathan Weidner and Eric Steven Weidner, both of Carlisle; fiancé, Donna Stillson of Carlisle; five siblings, Pamela (husband Donald) George Fenicle of Carlisle, Sandra George McKeehan of Harrisburg, Melody George Mills of Pittsburgh, Nancy George Weidner of Carlisle and John S. George of Carlisle. In addition to his father, Mark was preceded in death by a brother, Heber T. George, III, brother-in-law, Jesse S. McKeehan and nephew, Donald E. Fenicle, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Carlisle United Methodist Church, 45 S. West St., Carlisle, PA with Rev. Mira A. Hewlett officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA and at the church on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services.
