Marjorie Milliken Austin, 88, of Mechanicsburg, formerly Conway, NH, passed away September 24th, 2012 at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
She was born April 20, 1924 in East Baldwin, Maine to Lyla and Arnold Wentworth. She was preceded in death by Ray C. Austin, her husband of 63 years. She is survived by one brother, Clayton Wentworth (wife Ruth) of Oxford, Maine, son Stephen R. Austin (wife Claudia) of Northfield, IL, son Jeffrey S. Austin (wife Jerianne) of Mechanicsburg, PA, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-¬grandchildren.
Marjorie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to travel with Ray across the country in their RV visiting family and friends. Her simple pleasures in life included skiing, boating, fishing, camping, gardening, canning, knitting, and quilting. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Carlisle, PA. Marjorie will be remembered locally for her presence at Rich Valley Golf. She and Ray were the very first starters when the golf course opened in 2003. She has since served as an "ambassador" for the golf course where she was fondly known as "Nana." She will remain forever in our hearts.
Family and Friends are invited to share in the "Celebration of Marjorie's Life" at Rich Valley Golf, 227 Rich Valley Road, Mechanicsburg, on Saturday, October 6, at 4:00 pm. A dinner will follow the service for all attendees.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her name to Kick in For Kids (a local 501 C3 nonprofit organization) 109 Salem Church Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
