Marilyn G. Jonassen Jones

Marilyn G. (Stiansen) Jonassen Jones, 64 of Mechanicsburg, went into the arms of her Lord and Savior, from M S Hershey Medical Center, Saturday, January 18, 2014.
She was the daughter of the late Alf and Jennie Stiansen, born October 23, 1949 in Rockville Centre, NY.
She is survived by her husband, David F. Jones: two sons: Donald Jonassen (wife Stacey) of Centereach, NY and Peter Jonassen (wife Kathryn) of Malverne, NY (five grandchildren). Three step-children: Debbie (Jones) Shoemaker (husband David) of Boiling Springs, D. Alan
Jones of Carlisle, and Carole (Jones) Blacksmith (husband Gary III) of Carlisle, (six step grandchildren), two sisters: Joan Leibundgut (husband Robert) and Dorothy Kaufmann (husband Charles), both of Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg, and a brother, Pastor Richard Stiansen (wife Linda) of Souderton, PA .
She graduated from Martin Van Buren High School, Queens Village, NY in 1967 and from Queens General Hospital, Jamaica, NY, as an RPN in 1970. Her employment was in Early Childhood Education in New York and Pennsylvania.
She was predeceased by her first husband Robert Jonassen in 1995 and by a step daughter Melinda Jones in 2008.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM (visitation from 12:00 to 2:00) at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Mechanicsburg with Pastor Richard Stiansen officiating. Interment will be in Nassau Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington, NY on Thursday, January 23, 2014.
