Marilyn Etter

Marilyn Lee Etter, 79, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at UPMC Carlisle.

Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Marion (Arrich) Schaffer and the wife of 62 years to Charles L. Etter.

Marilyn enjoyed shopping and bird-watching. She also loved painting, especially acrylic and canvas painting.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Todd Etter, his wife, Patricia, Deb Reese, Scott Etter, his wife, Tina; her grandchildren: Timmy Etter, his wife, Jennifer, Jennifer Etter, David Etter, his wife, Kim, Kirsti Downey, her husband, Jason, Chandra Etter; her great grandchildren: Aubrey, Wesson, Carter, Brantley, Barrett and Haley, as well as her siblings: Cathy Osbourne, her husband, Billy, Georgette Duggins, her husband, Roger, Bonnie Etter, her husband, Guy, Clarence Schafer, his wife, Paulette and Harry Schaffer, Jr, his wife, Shirley.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her twin sister: Marion “Mimi” Schaffer.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 1:00 pm Tuesday April 9, 2024 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests after 12:00 pm. Interment will follow the service in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.
