Marie R. Barrick, 90, of Carlisle, died Friday, May 10, 2013 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill surrounded by her loving family.
Born August 5, 1922 in Newville, she was a daughter of the late Warren Edgar and Bessie L. Cooper Hockenberry and the widow of Ralph E. Barrick, who was the love of her life.
Marie retired from Knouse Food Company after her employment there from 1962-1974. She was a member of North Middleton Township Senior Citizens and the North Middleton Fire Company Auxiliary. Marie was a member of the former St. James Lutheran Church, Bloserville and Big Springs United Lutheran Church. Marie loved people and always saw the good in everyone especially her family.
Surviving are one brother, Grant Hockenberry of Mt. Holly Springs; one sister, Mary Fetter of Carlisle; one granddaughter, Lori Bender (and husband, Jeff) of Carlisle; and three great-grandchildren, Alisha, Dylan, and Lynnze. Also, granddog, Bentley and grandcat, Smokey. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Roy, James, Frank, Clyde, and John and two sisters, Helen Bear and Elsie Warren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Jean Keubler officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013 and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
