Marie Chamberlin Jackson Goodhart

Marie Chamberlin Jackson Goodhart, 99, of Carlisle, passed away, on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

She was born August 25, 1923, in Shippensburg to the late Adam and Benita (Fogelsanger) Chamberlin.

Marie was a longtime member of Mt. Rock United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and served as the church secretary. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Old Bellaire Chapter #375 (Carlisle). Marie was employed by the Naval Supply Depot in Mechanicsburg for 30 years before her retirement. She later became a member of NARFE. In her free time Marie enjoyed working puzzles, sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two loving sons, Wayne Eugene (wife Judy) Jackson and Larry Edward Jackson (partner Chris) both of Carlisle; four grandchildren, Barry E. (wife Natalie) Jackson of Carlisle, Lisa A. (husband Vincent) Magaro of Las Vegas, NV, Dawn R. Swartz of Carlisle, and Anthony (wife Chelsea) Jackson of Carlisle; four great-grandchildren, Lindsay (husband Kody) Richmond of Newville, Katelyn Jackson (fiancée Nick Berkheimer) of Carlisle, Kasey Jackson of Carlisle, and Bentley Jackson of Carlisle; five great-great grandchildren, Landin, Kaleb, Greyson, Aspen, and Oliver; and her feline companion, Calie.  In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her first husband, James Jackson Jr.; her second husband, Arthur H. Goodhart; and nine siblings, Albert, Glenn, Jay, Lee, Wendell, and Friedith Chamberlin, Janet Sandy, Mary Steimling, and Vada Diehl.   

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Mt. Rock United Methodist Church, 598 Mt. Rock Road Newville, PA 17241. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Marie to either Mt. Rock United Methodist Church, 598 Mt. Rock Road Newville, PA 17241 or to Promedica Hospice, 1200 Walnut Bottom Road #302 Carlisle, PA 17015.
