Margaret W. "Margie" George

Margaret W. “Margie” George, age 95, of Carlisle, PA, wife of the late Heber T. George, Jr., passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 5, 1925 in Carlisle to the late Paul and Dorothy (Heiges) Wilson.
Margie was a 1943 graduate of Carlisle High School and a graduate of the Pennsylvania State School of Aeronautics. She worked 20 years as a secretary for the former First United Methodist Church of Carlisle where she was also a longtime member and also worked four years as a clerk at Morgan Millworks in Mechanicsburg. Margie enjoyed her Tuesday Card Club and was an accomplished bowler and even finished 2nd in the Harrisburg Women’s Tournament.
She is survived by her children Sandra George McKeehan of Harrisburg, Melody George Mills of Carlisle, Nancy George Weidner of Carlisle, and John S. George of Carlisle; son-in-law Don Fenicle. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Margie was preceded in death by sons Mark Frank George and Heber T. George, III; daughter Pamela George Fenicle; grandchildren Jason Fenicle, Sr., Donald E. Fenicle, Jr., and A.J. Mills; brothers Paul Wilson, Jr., Donald Lee Wilson, Sr; sister Dorothy Wilson Wolf and son-in-law Jesse S. McKeehan, III.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the Carlisle United Methodist Church, 333 S. Spring Garden St., Carlisle, PA 17013. Interment will take place at Westminster Cemetery in Carlisle. Viewing will be held On Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013. Viewing will also be held on Thursday at the church from 10:00AM until service time.
As mandated by Governor Wolf, maximum capacity during gatherings at the funeral home is restricted and you be asked to wait at the door when you arrive until the numbers allow for your entrance.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle PA 17013 to help with funeral expenses.
