Margaret J. Fry

Margaret Jean Fry, 86, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025 at her daughter’s home.

Born in Fayetteville, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence (Fisher) Lohman and the wife of 67 years to the late Melvin Fry, who passed away in 2024.

Margaret served as president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 1299, Carlisle.

She loved traveling and camping with Melvin, traveling to Alaska, Canada and all over the United States. An avid reader, she always had a book in her hand. She also enjoyed boating, gardening and watching her murder mysteries, documentaries and cooking shows.

Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, which brought her the most joy.

Survivors include her daughters: Cathy Fry, of Duncannon, Barbara Mixell (Dick), Lynnette Sipe (Terry) and Lisa Adams (Barry), all of Carlisle; her nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren as well as her two brothers: Richard Lohman (Cindy), of Virginia and John Lohman (Janet), of Alabama.

In addition to her parents and spouse, Margaret was preceded in death by her sister: Edna Morrow.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where Rev. Mark Sweeney will officiate. The family will greet guests after 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
