Margaret A. Wilson, age 93, of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 11, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Richard Arthur and Ella Louise (Bailey) Walker and was the widow of the late John Lennox Wilson.
Margaret was a graduate of the Carnegie Institute of Technology and later received her Master's degree at the University of Pittsburgh. She was a long time member of the American Association of University Women and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Carlisle. She had a lifelong interest in books and reading and worked at several public libraries.
She is survived by her children, James L. (and wife Susan) Wilson of Keswick, VA and Victoria (and husband Todd) Webb of Biscoe, NC; two grandchildren, Andrew (and wife Sumers) Wilson of Brooklyn, NY and Theodore (and wife Laura) Wilson of Austin, TX; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, Richard A. Walker, Jr.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church, 2 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, PA with Rev. Anthony D. Lorenz officiating. Burial will be at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 2 North Hanover St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
