Manuel D. "Abe" Knouse

Manuel D. “Abe” Knouse, 64, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at his home.
He was born August 21, 1955 in Gettysburg to the late Leroy and Dorothy (Barrick) Knouse.
Abe loved nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and tending to his garden. Abe attended Bermudian Springs High School before working more than 30 years at Carlisle Tire and Wheel. He loved pie, flea markets, trips to the beach and spending time with his family.
Abe is survived by four children, Jason (wife Adriane) Knouse of Newport, Brian Knouse of Mechanicsburg, Jennifer (husband Mike) Nickel of Marysville, and Christopher Knouse of Dillsburg; two sisters, Dorothy Keith of Maine and Gladys Knouse of Hanover; fifteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Roy and Norman Knouse.
A service celebrating Abe’s life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. Gary L. Fanus officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
