Madelyn F. Valunas, D.A.

Madelyn F. Valunas, D.A., age 81, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Hershey Medical Center. She was born December 1, 1941, in Selinsgrove, PA to the late Thomas A. Valunas, Sr. and Katherine E. (Stetler} Valunas.

Retiring in 2003, Madelyn had worked at Shippensburg University where she was the Associate Vice President for Information Services and Technologies and also held the position of Dean of the Library and Media Services.

She loved traveling, playing golf, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Madelyn is survived by her husband of 42 years, John H. Grezlak; sisters MaryAnn Weader and her husband Dr. William Weader of Selinsgrove, PA, Barbara Signor of Reisterstown, MD, Karen Herrold and her husband Jeffrey of Camp Hill, PA and Kathie Doerr Alexandria, VA. She is also survived by her brother Thomas A. Valunas, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Oak Ridge, TN as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her late parents, Madelyn was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law Jerry Signor and Steve Doerr and her nephew Joel Signor.

Madelyn wanted to be remembered as the person she was in life. There will be no public viewing or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Madelyn's name may be made to Running Strong for American Indian Youth, 8301 Richmond Highway, Suite 200, Alexandria, VA 22309.
