Lucy M. Freeman, 75, of Oberlin and formerly of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at her residence.
She was born May 4, 1946, in Germany to Franziska and Gerhard Malyska who still reside in Germany. Lucy is the widow of Ronald V.Q. Freeman Sr., who passed in 2006.
Lucy worked for Dickinson College for 34 years before her eventual retirement. She loved photography, dancing and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lucy could often be seen smiling as she tended to her lawn and garden. She was a very kind and generous person who will be missed by many.
In addition to her parents, Lucy is survived by her three children, Cindy Herman of Wellsboro, Bradford Freeman of Carlisle, and Shawn (wife Mary) Freeman of Oberlin; one stepson, Ronald V.Q. (wife Kim) Freeman, Jr. of California; six grandchildren, Helena, Amber, Brooklyn, Zebadiah, Linda, and Bridget; two great-grandsons, Hunter and Chance; six sisters, Inge, Gerdi, and Renate who all live in Germany and Mary, Sandy and Nancy who live in the United States. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Natasha Losinger.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
