Lucy Fortuna, 81, of Newville, died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Green Ridge Village, Newville.
Born April 24, 1932 in Mt. Carmel, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Pauline Dempko Ciocco and the widow of Robert S. Fortuna who died in 1988.
She was a graduate of Mt. Carmel Catholic High School and St. Agnes School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She worked at the former Kinney Shoe Factory and the MGM Pharmacy, both of Newville. Lucy was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Rosary Group. She was a devoted catholic, navy wife, loving mother, loyal sister, caring aunt and avid bowler. She enjoyed traveling with AARP and loved her family dearly, especially her grandbabies.
Surviving are one daughter, Debbie Keener (and husband, Jeff) of Audubon, PA; one son, David Fortuna (and wife, Stacy) of Gilroy, CA; one brother, Steve Ciocco of Mt. Carmel, PA; one sister, Liz Hosgood of Ft. Myers, FL; and six grandchildren, Tony, Bradley, and Sean Keener and Ethan, Kristina, and Cody Fortuna. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert A. Fortuna who died in 2012.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle with Rev. William C. Forrey as celebrant. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church, followed by a luncheon provided by the family. A private burial will be held Monday in Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
