Lucille C. Shelley

November 26, 1918 — June 14, 2017

The family of Lucille C. Shelley sadly announces her death on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Cumberland Crossings, Carlisle, PA at the beautiful age of 98 years.
She was born November 26, 1918 in Wyomissing, PA to the late Nathan and Emma (Moser) Corrigan and was the widow of Dr. William L. Shelley.
Lucy loved her community and quietly served many organizations-Meals on Wheels, Bosler Library, Carlisle Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, P.E.O. and the Alter Guild at First Lutheran Church where she was a member. There was always fun to be had-bridge with her girlfriends, women’s tennis group at the Connor Club, Couples Tennis group with very dear friends or her gourmet Group who always had a good time planned- but Lucy’s real passion was her needlework-she always had something in the works-making and smocking all her young daughter’s clothes, quilting, hooking rugs, knitting, cross-stitching, needlepoint, crewel work and upholstering. This was her passion and she was an “artist” with a needle. When she wasn’t home, she could be found fishing in the Floriday Keys or on the lake in Maine. Lucy truly enjoyed traveling to Europe with her special friends.
She is survived by: her daughter, Jody (husband Bill) Kronenberg; three grandsons, Andrew S. (wife Amy) Kronenberg of Carlisle, Christopher E. Kronenberg of Carlisle and William M. Jr. (wife Lola) Kronenberg of Gulfport, FL; eight nephews; and three nieces. In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was preceded in death by a daughter, Dr. Lisbeth E. “Beth” Shelley; two sisters, Ann and Doris; and her brother, Bob.
