Louise (Louisa) Helen Jacobs

Louise Helen Jacobs, 89, of Carlisle, died Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born November 13, 1922 in Tunkhannock, she was a daughter of the late Herbert M. and Lillian Sayre Phillips and widow of Kenneth E. Jacobs whom she lovingly cared for until his death in 1986.
She was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School, Class of 1941. She had worked for the Pennsylvania State Department of Agriculture and also employed by the Book of the Month Club. Louise was an active member of AARP and previously enjoyed her participation in a bowling league. She loved to travel, especially AARP bus trips. She has also traveled to Europe and loved visiting her family.
Surviving are two sons, Kirk E. Jacobs (and wife, Linda) of Newville and Brian L. Jacobs of Edgwater, MD; four grandchildren, Michelle Black, Danny Jacobs, Krystal Winkelman and Alexandra Jacobs; and five great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Landon and Emily Black, Billy Jacobs, and Brier Wood. She was preceded in death by her brother, Milton H. Phillips.
Services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle.
