Lois W. Anderson

Lois W. Anderson, age 89, longtime resident of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 in Virginia.
She was born April 20, 1927 in Huntingdon County, PA to the late Esco and Olive (Cutshall) Wilson and was the widow of Harold E. Anderson.
In 1947, Lois earned a degree as a Registered Nurse from the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing. She provided care for others as an operating room nurse at Carlisle Hospital, school nurse in Dauphin County schools and Elizabethtown College and as a long term care nurse at Cumberland County Nursing Home and the Rehab Hospital of Mechanicsburg. She spent the final years of her professional career working for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a supervisor for Nursing Home Licensing and Certification. She was an active longtime member of the Mechanicsburg Church of the Brethren and the Harrisburg Hospital Nurse's Alumni Association.
She is survived by three daughters, Karen Anderson (and husband Ric Rowland) of State College, PA, Carol (and husband Keith) Good of Herndon, VA and Janice (and husband Joseph) Lupia of Broadlands, VA; six grandchildren, Matthew (and wife Tiffany Furrell) Good of San Francisco, CA, Brittany Good of Herndon, VA, Evan Rowland of Falls Church, VA, Alex Rowland of Pittsburgh, PA, Nathan Good of Herndon, VA and Jared Lupia of Broadlands, VA. In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Mechanicsburg Church of the Brethren, 301 Gale Street, Mechanicsburg, PA with Rev. Del Keeney officiating. There will be a visitation at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the services. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
