Lois V. Miller

Lois V. “Grammy” (Zimmerman) Miller, 89, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in Carlisle.

Born February 10, 1929 in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late John and Sarah (Deitch) Zimmerman and the widow of Ed Miller. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Pattie and Jim Parsons and Peg and Wes Bower; her granddaughters and their husbands, Jenny and Max Acuna, Julie and Todd Friscia, Emily and Collin Moyer, Lindsay Bower, Jillian and Chris Johnson and Tiffany and Matt Stuckey; her great grandchildren Eddie, Will, Natalie, Lily, Joe and Xavier; her sisters, Mary Jane Aichele and Shirley Weston; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jimmie Miller; her great-grandson, Tony Friscia; and siblings, George Zimmerman, Dorothy Warner and Richard Zimmerman.

Lois was a lifetime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Plainfield and a founding member of the Society of Farm Women of Cumberland County Group #16. She enjoyed sporting events and games of all kinds, going to the beach, riding horses, children, sugar, Thanksgiving dinners and all family gatherings.

Services will be held Monday, October 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Hoffman Funeral Home, 2020 W. Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Friends may call Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
