Lois Oneida (Miller) Forsberg

March 25, 1926 — March 6, 2020

Lois was born at home in York Springs, PA on March 25, 1926 to Harvey and Josie (Dentler) Miller. She graduated from Biglerville High School in 1943 prior to attending Anderson College in Anderson, IN. While at Anderson, she met her future husband, Vern L. Forsberg, and they married on June 25, 1949.

She went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 6, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Walter Miller, and his wife, Mary.

In addition to her husband, Vern, she is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families.

Lois enjoyed growing up on the family farm where she enjoyed the good provisions of fresh food and the out of doors. She loved reading, learning, and music. Lois grew up attending the Chapel Hill Church of God in York Springs, PA, where her parents had been founding members. At the age of eleven, she began to play the piano in church and continued to play for churches, local groups, and nursing homes for years.

Lois was honored in college by being listed in the Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities, as well as being a May Queen in 1948 the year she graduated from college. She had the opportunity to teach music to students in all twelve grades while living in Indiana. While she and Vern lived in Anderson, she worked with a Junior Choir at Park Place Church of God. She found great joy in that endeavor.

Also while living in Anderson, Lois was Assistant Registrar to Dr. Gene Sterner and Dr. Roscoe Snowden who were Directors of Church Services of the Church of God. One of the main functions of her job there was Editor of the Yearbook of the Church of God – before the days of computers. She worked many hours striving for a publication without mistakes.

After moving back to Pennsylvania due to Vern’s job, they became members of Cavalry Road Church of God which is now Lighthouse COG in Carlisle.
