Lois J. Williams, age 76, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Green Ridge Village, Newville.
She was born on August, 27, 1939 in Gloucester, MA to the late Louis and Leonora Francis Fortado.
Lois was retired after working as a medical, legal and insurance secretary. She was a member of First United Church of Christ in Carlisle where she was in the Bell Choir, sang in the Chancel Choir, participated in Bible study, was a member of the "Second Tuesdayers", and a member of the book chat group; was a member of the Red Hat Society; and was formerly on the board of the Sadler Health Center. She adopted and cared for many stray cats. Most importantly to her though was her family and she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Michelle (and husband Jason) Brode of Carlisle, Stephen Parks of MD, Julianne (and husband John) Jazwinski of Grove City, PA, Samantha Parks of Middle River, MD and Adam (and wife Toni) Parks of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, Katelynn, Raina, Elyjah, Madison, Hailey and Joel; a great-grandchild, Kaleigh; and a brother, Stephen Fortado of Ipswich, MA.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2105 at First United Church of Christ, 30 N. Pitt Street, Carlisle with Rev. Chris Schwab officiating. There will not be a visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to The ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Road, Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002.
