Lois Ardella (Line) Fry, 81 of Carlisle, died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at her home. Lois was the first born of the late Arthur & Alma (Kramer) Line on April 24, 1933, a beautiful spring day in Carlisle.
Surviving is her wonderful husband of 44 years, John Fry and three children Cynthia Tallariti (and husband, John), Connie Goerlitz, and Cathy Shoafstall (and husband Jon); two step-children, Jeffrey Fry (and wife, Wanda) and Jodi Fry, the grand-daughter that Lois raised, Rebecca Spahr, a sister, Isabel Houston (and husband, Craig) and brothers, William Line (and wife, Winnie) and David Line (and wife, Thelma), 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her brother Paul, step-daughter Sally Kunkle and grandson David Kunkle.
Lois, also known as "Nanny" to many, was a lively woman, was well-known for her infectious laugh, lipstick kisses and great devotion to her family. She was loyal to her church, Bethany Evangelical, and served as their organist more than 20 years. Anyone who knew her couldn't help but love her for her straight-shooting advice, generosity and genuine compassion. She was the rock for her family and will be sorely missed.
