Lloyd G. Mccorkel

Lloyd G. McCorkel, Jr., of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday January 24, 2016 in Mt. Holly Springs doing what he loved - working.
He was born on September 18, 1950 in Hershey, Pa to the late Lloyd G. McCorkel, Sr. and Doris (Stopfel) McCorkel.
Lloyd was the oldest of eight children and worked on the family farm growing up. He was a graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, Class of 1969, where he was a member of the varsity wrestling team. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, farming and tractors and owned an excavating business. Lloyd was always willing to lend a hand and spent much of his time helping others.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Douglas, Wendy, Laura and Eric; his four grandchildren; and his brothers and sisters, Mary Jane, Doris, Ruth, Jean, Joseph and John. He was preceded by his brother Daniel.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Tree of Life Church, 50 K Street, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Bud Smitley officiating. A remembrance will be held after the service at Treehouse, 1090 Franklin Street, Carlisle, Pa.
