Linda K. Jackson

Linda K. Jackson, 76, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at her home.

She was born November 16, 1946, in Carlisle to the late Robert and Dorothy (Lehman) Hykes.

Linda was a 1964 graduate of Big Spring High School. She was employed by Carlisle Syntec before she accepted the position she later retired from at Amp / Tyco. Linda really liked Buick cars and she seemed to drive one nearly her whole life. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. Linda was very fond of animals, especially cats. She loved girls’ trips to Ocean City, Maryland and always enjoyed talking to friends while sharing a cold drink.

Linda is survived by one daughter, Dawn R. Swartz (partner Jason Arnold) of Carlisle; three siblings, Edward Lee (wife Donna) Stouffer of Virginia, Darlene Lindsay of Newville, and Doris (husband Michael) Swartz of Newville; and her beloved feline companion Sadie. Linda was also involved in the lives of many, many foster children who were raised by her parents over the years.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at American Legion Post 421, 28 Shepherd Road Newville, PA 17241.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Linda to the Arc of Cumberland and Perry Counties, 71 Ashland Avenue Carlisle, PA 17013 or Humane Society of Harrisburg, 7790 Grayson Road Harrisburg, PA 17111.
