October 6, 1947 — May 26, 2015

Linda J. Karkovack, 67, of Carlisle, passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 surrounded by her beloved family.
She was born on October 6, 1947 in Scranton, PA to the late Joseph "Red" and Marion Schwab O'Hara.
Linda attended Scranton Public High School. At an early age, she developed her love for all animals. That deep connection carried on throughout her life as she compassionately cared for them-often taking in those with special needs. Over the years, she had been employed at the former Bonanza Steak House, Sears Outlet and, most recently, Hillmount Animal Hospital. She adored her children, grandchildren, The Beatles (Paul was her favorite) and took great pride in being a loving wife and mother.
She is survived and eternally remembered by her loving husband of 38 years, Joseph D. Karkovack of Carlisle; daughters, Kimberly A. (and husband Timothy) Ritchie of Carlisle and Susan L. Griffiths of Mt. Holly Springs; a son, Eric (and wife Julie) Karkovack of Carlisle; a sister, Kathleen Fazio and family of Scranton; six grandchildren, Amber L. Ritchie of Carlisle, Stefanie A. Ritchie and fiancé Kyle Bevins of Harrisburg, Kyle D. Buttermore of New York City, Emily N. Buttermore of Middletown, Sydney E. Ritchie of Carlisle and Natalie E. Karkovack of Carlisle; and a niece, Jennifer Price Sepp of Pottstown. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Price along with many animal friends.
A private Celebration of Life service will be held by the family in the near future.
To honor her life, donations may be made to Castaway Critters, PO Box 1421, Harrisburg, PA 17105 or Celtic Healthcare, 150 Scharberry Lane, Mars, PA 16046.
