Lieselotte (Lotte) Rosie, 85, of Carlisle, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.
Born July 17, 1926 in Rattenberg, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Eduard and Franziska Penz Schwarz.
She was formerly employed as a telephone operator, housekeeper and waitress in Germany and later as a hostess at the Jolly Bull Restaurant, Mechanicsburg. Lieselotte practiced the Catholic faith. Lotte enjoyed bowling, painting, knitting, gardening and traveling, especially back to Germany. She loved to take care of her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Gerald J. Rosie of Carlisle; three children, Linda Pelletier (and husband, Ronald) of Carlisle, George Schwarz of Modesto, CA, and Kathy Farrell (and husband, Scott) of Carlisle, and two sisters, Anna Murr and Waltraud Mende both of Germany; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, James Rosie, four brothers, four sisters, and two grandsons, Billy and Ian.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2012 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle followed by a prayer service with Rev. William C. Forrey officiating at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville at the convenience of the family.
