Levone N. Kail, age 87, of Carlisle, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 6, 1929 in Carlisle to the late John Thomas and Bertha Florence (Baughman) Lebo.
Levone enjoyed working 1000-piece wildlife jigsaw puzzles and loved traveling, especially her cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean. She was a member of Old Bellaire Chapter of Eastern Star #375, was Mother Advisor for Rainbow Girls and was a member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church in Newville since 1980.
She is survived by: her husband of 37 years, Donald Kail of Carlisle; daughters, Joyce (and husband Jesse) Long of Carlisle and Judy (and husband James) Corbin of Santa Fe, NM; a son, Melvin (and wife Barbara) Garman of St. Mary’s, GA; step-son, Donald Jr. (and wife Judy) Kail of Newville; seven loving grandchildren; and seventeen beloved great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Levone was preceded in death by her first husband, John E. Garman and two sisters, Beulah Baum and Blanche McCulloch.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at St. Matthews United Church of Christ, 3240 Spring Road, Carlisle, PA with Pastor Timothy P. Dugan officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. Viewings will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
