Levi E. Mountz, 88, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center.
He was born September 11, 1934, in Carlisle to the late Zeke and Jane (Harris) Mountz.
Levi was a hard-working man all his life. He was employed by the Colonial Park Mall for over 30 years before he retired. In his spare time, he enjoyed taking on odd jobs mowing, painting, working the car shows, and fixing lawn mowers.
Levi is survived by his loving daughter, Nancy Garland of Shermans Dale; three step-children, Ruth Wentz of Hanover, Bob (wife Dory) Garland of Blain, and Rita Garland of Shippensburg; one half-brother, Elmer Mountz of Carlisle; one half-sister, Dorothy Mountz of Carlisle; five grandchildren, Mandy Garland of Shermans Dale, Tiffany (husband Josh) Lambert of Newville, Lacy Garland of Carlisle, Lonnie (wife Amanda) Garland Jr. of New Bloomfield, and Debra Mountz of Carlisle; four step-grandchildren, Star Shopp of Newville, Michael Garland of Carlisle, Garth Garland of York, and Chip Garland of York; ten great-grandchildren; and 14 step great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Mountz; one son-in-law, Lonnie Garland Sr.; one stepdaughter, Ruby Garland; and one stepson, Ralph Garland.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will follow at North Middleton Church of God Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
