Lester William "Bucky" Burkholder III, 58, of Carlisle, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born December 6, 1956 in Carlisle, he was the son of Lester William Burkholder Jr. and the late Mary Ann (Wall) Burkholder.
Bucky was a graduate of Carlisle High School and attended the York Academy of Art. He worked for Sherwin Williams Paints. Prior to that he was an independent painter. He was a member of Carlisle First Church of God. He was an amazing musician, especially a talented bass player. He was a wonderful husband, best friend to everyone and beloved by everyone. Playing music was one of his favorite pastimes, playing many instruments. He also was a great artist, especially painting. He was a member of various service clubs.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Cathie Burkholder; his father, Lester W. "Bill" Burkholder Jr. of Carlisle; a sister, Kathryn (and husband Andrew) Kerr of Newville; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews who will always remember their silly Uncle Buck.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Carlisle First Church of God, 705 Glendale Street, Carlisle with Rev. Michael Poe and Greg Hench officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
