Leon W. Deihl

Leon W. Deihl, 79, of Carlisle, died Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Chapel Pointe Nursing Home.

Born in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Eugene “Jake” and Marie (Hockenberry) Deihl and the loving husband of 58 years to Doris (Fetter) Deihl.

Leon retired as a truck driver, serving 35 years as a Teamster member. He was a member of Newville First Church of God, where he served as a council member and deacon.

In addition to his wife, Leon is survived by his son: Michael L. Deihl, his wife, Kimberly, of Carlisle; his daughter: Christine D. Diep, her husband, Thai, of Carlisle; four grandchildren: Jordan & Caroline Deihl, Evan & Erica Diep, as well as 1 great grandson: Camdyn Stoner.

Leon was preceded in death by his brother: Jeffrey Deihl.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service 11 AM Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests after 10 AM. Interment will follow the service in Westminster Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Leon’s name may be made to Newville First Church of God, 475 Shippensburg Road, Newville, PA 17241.
